COUNTY WIDE ESSAY CONTEST:

THE INDIAN COMMUNITY FUND AND NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM HONORS ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS.
The Indian Community Fund collaborated with the National Civil Rights Museum for it's 3rd annual, county wide, essay contest. The subject was "Violence in society is becoming an endemic problem and it has to be curtailed. How do you propose reducing the youth violence in your school and community?"
The winners were honored at the national Civil Rights Museum at an awards ceremony on M. L. King weekend, January 13th 2007.
Senior Winners:
$500.00 each, Michael Phillips: 12th Grade; Germantown High; D'Mario Mitchell: 12th Grade; Raleigh Egypt High
Junior Winners:
1st Place, $250.00: Thomas Dapp, 10th Grade, Millington Central
2nd Place, $150.00: Tameka Lewis, 11th Grade, Raleigh Egypt High School
3rd Place, $100.00: Brittany Howell, 11th Grade, Germantown High
