The mission of the Food Bank is to channel wholesome food and grocery items to charitable programs that feed the needy, ill and infants.  The Food Bank serves 350 charitable agencies in the Greater Memphis Area. The Food Bank receives food and Grocery items by food drives conducted by The Food Bank as well as businesses and organizations. These items need to be sorted and repacked so they can be put on the Food Bank inventory for distribution. This work is critical to enable the Food Bank to put the items in the Food Bank warehouse for distribution. The ICFGM has organized groups volunteers to sort and repack donated food items. The volunteers work in groups of 10-12 persons, usually on Saturdays. The scheduling of this volunteer effort is coordinated with collections of food items by the Memphis Food Bank.
