ICFGM Youth Program is a service / volunteer arm of ICFGM for our youngsters. We have been involved with Ronald McDonald house and are looking forward to working with other organizations.
We started this program by serving the families at Ronald McDonald House on Dec 3rd, 2006. Twelve youth from the ICFGM Youth Volunteer Group, along with three adults visited the Ronald McDonald House
to give the patients from St Jude Hospital and their families a little glimpse of Indian culture. Following a lunch of pizza and dessert, the youth volunteers performed many different variations of Raas/Garba
and taught some of the steps to the residents. There was also a display of traditional Garba clothes which some of the residents tried on. It was a great experience for our youth to mingle with the patients
and their families and get a little glimpse into the life of children with cancer. Our sincere thanks to our Youth Volunteer Group: Anand Baxi, Anand Saha, Anuj Shukla, Mahak Soni, Rahul Kumar, Sapna Jain,
Shimul Gajjar, Smitha Pidikiti, Smruti Keshani, Somesh Rai, Sri Pulusani, Vaishali Keshani and Vishwas Chandra.
On June 21st 2007, ICFGM Youth Volunteer Group participated in a Summer camp "Around the World" at Ronald McDonald house. Nayha Patel, Kinjal Shah, Hina Purohit and Ishita Pareek presented three dances for the patients and their families. All four of them are
very talented dancers and danced beautifully to melodious music. When finished they stayed behind and talked to the children and their families. There were about 20 patients and their families in attendance.year.
Please visit this page more often to see what we are doing to make a difference in the lives of Memphians through our young hearts. If you would like to become a part of Youth Volunteer group, please contact Poorna Gajjar or Himali Kumar.
